"Beautiful things, from around the world, made with the heart, the right way.".

Welcome to the world of Pink Pampas

During a trip to Belize we came up with the idea of creating our own project, a project whose focus had to be the enhancement of craft techniques typical of those faraway cultures.

By studying ways to achieve a blend of European stylistic canons and the local folk heritage, we wanted to be able to spread a "renewed" vision of craftsmanship, by creating highly identifiable, contemporary and "emotional" design objects that would convey the joy of those remote places, the craftsmanship of extraordinary manual skills and the magic of the social and geographic kilometers travelled to make their way to us.

They were supposed to be enthralling pieces, irresistible in their color combinations and vibrant symbolism, to which you would want to assign a special place inside your home.

A new multifaceted synergistic creative wave that would give rise to an ad hoc decorative context to be "shared" through digital technology.

In this way it would have been possible to pass on and preserve those local millenary traditions, safeguarding the work of the artisans and the communities involved, thus generating new economic opportunities that would improve the living conditions of their families.

A positive virtuous circle based on authenticity, beauty and the nourishment of the soul. So, after months of market analysis to understand the actual feasibility of the project, we decided to set off for Mexico, which had been on our travel bucket list for some time, in search of the most interesting craft sites.

It was October 2016.

Every big dream and project brings with it both satisfactions and obstacles.

How did you handle the up & downs?

Difficulties sharpen our wits and train our resilience daily! The strength lies in maintaining the focus without losing sight of the main goal, approaching each situation step by step.

Only then does the obstacle turn into an opportunity for growth. We can reveal to you that at the beginning of our adventure we didn't even speak Spanish: we had to "get by" with an app!

Here are some of the small and big "problems" we face on a daily basis to carry out our efforts: language and communication gaps, as well as geographical and logistical ones.

Some artisans do not have telephones, nor of course a bank account to receive money; others live in remote territories, reachable only by facing very long journeys and changing different means of transportation. Many indigenous communities located in the mountains do not know Spanish, but speak only the local dialect, such as "tzotzil," an ancient Mayan language spoken in the state of Chiapas.

So in these cases we had to get an interpreter, who would allow us to communicate and set up the collaboration.

A great satisfaction that deserves all our efforts.

Giulia Patuelli and Filippo Fadini, the founders of Pink Pampas, but who are you?

My name is Giulia and I was born in Brescia in 1982. I was barely an adult when I moved to Milan to study law.

I became a lawyer, I used to work in Italian and international firms, but I was not fully satisfied with my career path. Something was missing for me.

So at 29 I followed my instincts and started from scratch, with a first internship in fashion.

Filippo, who's the same age as me, he also lived in Milan, where he was studiying economics and following his father's path in construction, with skyrocketing rhythms and stress, constantly running between construction sites around Italy.

We traveled whenever we had the chance to, last minute & low cost, always in search of the sun, exploring the world and discovering new feelings of freedom each time.

A key word for this phase of our lives is "Wanderlust." The term indicates a strong desire for discovery and exploration and reflects a clear desire for personal self-development, facing unforeseen challenges and learning about unknown cultures.

We fell in love with the countries of South America and began collecting pieces handmade by local artisans in the most incredible colors. Journey after journey, our perception of life priorities changed: we wanted to work on an entrepreneurial project that reflected our passions and could generate a virtuous circle of value.

That's how it all started to take shape....

Where did the name Pink Pampas come from?

The brand name has an inspirational meaning.
Pampas are typical plants of the Argentine pampas, perennial, wild, impressive and spectacular. They prefer warm sun, but can withstand sub-zero temperatures.
Pink is a color laden with meaning, infusing energy and positivity and symbolizing gratitude.
In addition, they are " infesting" plants: once the first ones have grown in a given place, they have the ability to spread independently all around, indefinitely.

Our philosophy: joy & sustainability

Beautiful things, from around the world, made with the heart, the right way.

Traveling develops sensitivity and enriches the soul, helping us understand and define our life priorities.

The constant drive to discover new worlds, together with a passion for handmade objects, research and authenticity, has led us to create a project aimed at spreading an unprecedented contemporary reinterpretation of ancient craft traditions.

The main objective is to generate a virtuous circle of value for the local communities and artisans involved, thus improving their living conditions.

Pink Pampas gives birth to a new creative wave of colors and positive emotions, developing a collection of decorative objects handcrafted by local artisans' excellence and made unique through the combination of different cultures and styles.

In this way a New Vision of craftsmanship is born and with it a New Era of Design.

We call it "New Folk."

Mexico wants to be the starting point. Pink Pampas is an evolving universe characterized by a continuous inclusion of new craft cultures typical of different parts of the world, spreading a vibrant aesthetic language that is always identifiable.

A unique style designed for the Décor world, naturally flowing into Fashion Design, through Maxi Illustrations in Digital Printing.
